Aaargh!!! Okay, I'm really frustrated with this game right now. I just recently started it again (Normal Difficulty) and... I keep failing! I love this game, don't get me wrong, but one false move - or a single moment of bad luck - can spell disaster. Plus, once someone dies, they stay dead. I like that aspect, as far as it goes, but I hate when a character I care about dies, and more importantly... when a particular death means "Game Over". I wish the main female of the first part wasn't so weak - one hit is usually enough to take her out. The main male of the first part gets relatively weaker in the last part of the game too, which sucks. He's awesome in the first part, though, so I sent him into a group of enemies he normally wouldn't have a major problem with... I went to the bathroom, only to come back to see him getting killed by a meteor. WTF?! Honestly, he shouldn't even have been killed by that, except it seems he must've gotten hit by every single attack from everyone else there. His dodging is supposed to be high, so that came as a major shock. Now I have to start the whole level over again, and I was almost done with it too. I really wish I could save mid-battle to come back to that point if I lose. It'd be cheap, I know, but the only thing starting over completely is gonna do is frustrate me as I struggle to remember what I did up to the point I failed at, then sit there bored as I replay it. Then if I still can't get it right, there I go again and again, until I'm just plain sick of looking at that place and don't want to have anything to do with the game anymore.
(This is where I kept ranting, ranting, deleting, and repeating. It left a bad taste, so be glad you don't have to read it.)

"The first casualties of war are those without strength and those without luck." ~Greil
In my case, it's generally a problem of luck. That, or the character being both weak and important. If they're weak but not important, I don't even bring them along. I don't want them to die, so it's safer if they don't join the battle at all.
I do wish the characters could equip various forms of armor, or have some easily-accessible way to boost their defenses. You can change weapons all you want, even mid-battle, and you can even forge your own customized weapons, but you can't get a shield or armor for a weak character? There's a lot I'd like to improve on the game, but admittedly it's a tactical game, and the limitations just serve to make it a better challenge. It wouldn't be nearly as fun if it were too easy.
Actually, I'm not too sure I agree with that last bit. Too hard just frustrates me, whereas too easy... well, it makes my favorite characters look awesome. I play Fire Emblem like I play Pokemon - get just a couple of favorites and power them up to the max, then watch them wade through tons of enemies without breaking a sweat. I like feeling confident that even if I slip up a bit, I can survive to make up for it. The pressure of sudden death doesn't sit well with me.

Ike can solo the entire game. What're you complaining about?

That's Path of Radiance. Ike isn't even in a lot of Radiant Dawn.

I just had Haar attack a door... and his ability prevented it from counterattacking. XD Epic.

Yes, fear the power of doors! Next time you run into one and hurt yourself, you'll know why.

That explains quite alot. I'll bet it was a door who killed so many parents.

Normal isn't too to bad. What chapter are you on Waning Light? and Who are you using fot each group?
During my normal playthrough I used Edward, Leo, Aran, Micaiah, Jill and Laura. In Ike's group I used Ike, Mia, Titania, Gatrie, Shion and Soren. In Elincia's group I used Nephenee, Haar, Callil, Elincia and Geoffrey. Sometimes I'd used Ranaulf too. I think.. that's all of them..

Ah, I actually beat Normal and started Hard, but my friend is borrowing my Wii, so I can't even really answer you at this point.
